The Devil's Double - Movie Review

The Devil's Double follows Latif Yahia (Dominic Cooper), who was forced to act as a body double for Uday Hussein, the sadistic psychopathic son of the Iraqi president, Saddam Hussein (Philip Quast). Latif is exposed to Uday's life of violence, sex and power. He gets fed up with it and looks for a way to get out without anyone getting hurt. Dominic Cooper does a fabulous job playing both roles. As Uday, he just becomes pure evil. On the other side, as Uday's doppelganger Latif, the good son who is only doing this to protect his family, you see the disgust with what he is being forced to do. The Devil's Double is captivating, and have you so entranced with what is going on. The most horrific thing of this movie is that it is all based on true events. Interspersed with scenes from history, you can only imagine how terrifying it was for Latif. It's worth watching.

The Devil's Double is now playing in select theatres.
